Component Maintenance and Overhaul
Fast turnaround times are important to all customers. Strategically located within our hangar premises are our 22 workshops which test, repair and overhaul components including those removed from the aircraft in the hangars. These in-house workshops are a vital link in our total support service offering as they ensure downtime is minimised with repairs routed in close proximity to the aircraft. The current in-house capability covers more than 26,000 part numbers and the workshops are well equipped with modern test stations such as the ATEC6000, ITS700A and SP3200.
Our workshops have one of the highest in-house component overhaul capabilities in the world for the B747-400. In addition, we have also built up an extensive component overhaul capability for the B777, by supporting Singapore Airlines, which operates one of the world's largest fleet of B777s. To maintain the A380, we have geared up on our workshops' test capabilities in specialty areas of thermoplastics, airframe composite repair, flight controls, landing gear and simulators.
