Our History
SIA Engineering Company was formed on 1 April 1992 from the Engineering Division of SIA and is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.
SIAEC evolved from the Engineering Division of Singapore Airlines (SIA), which was formed back in 1972.
Over the years, the Engineering Division invested heavily in building up its capabilities, facilities and equipment in order to handle the most modern aircraft adopted by SIA. This enabled us to develop MRO capabilities and experience in the newest aircraft in the market before other MRO companies.
In 1992, in a move to further increase productivity, the Engineering Division was separated into a wholly-owned subsidiary company of SIA - SIA Engineering Company Pte Ltd. The Company gained greater autonomy to pursue new business opportunities from around the world. This encouraged a sharper focus on productivity, efficiency, quality and more value-added services for customers.
Since then, our business has grown rapidly. In the year 2000, the Company marked another milestone in its history when it was listed on the Singapore Exchange.
